Fibre or Fibre optic cable is a data transfer cable made of glass optical fibres as thin as human hair that transmits large amounts of information literally at the speed of light.
This is the abbreviation for fibre-to-the-home. FTTH is fibre optic telecommunication service direct to a node inside an individual home or business.
Optical fibre is unique because it can carry a high band-width signal enormous distances. The longer the distance the signal travels on copper or coaxial cable, the lower the bandwidth. Fibre networks can also be upgraded by changing the electronics or using different lasers than increase the bandwidth withouth changing the fibre itself. That's why fibre networks are said to be "future-proof."
FTTH is the most advanced communication system available in the world today, and will be the technology relied upon worldwide to deliver communications in the future. LOGIC Fibre is a true 100% fibre optic connection made directly to your home, which allows us to offer the fastest, most reliable, most capable, highest quality telecommunications products available in Cayman.
LOGIC Fibre provides:
Standard costs for a fibre-to-the-home residential installation is $199, however during the construction phase we are waiving costs for standard installation.
*includes up to 2 televisions and one FUSE router if you choose to purchase one from us.
LOGIC installers will install an Optical Network Terminal (ONT) on the inside or outside of your residence. The ONT will provide both Cable & Internet service. Each installation varies therefore a site survey will be done prior to installation.
In some cases our fibre team will be required to dig a small trench to run fibre directly to your property. However, be assured our goal is to treat your property as if it were our own, and with the utmost respect. Our fibre team take great pride in their work and will leave your home or business in excellent condition.
FUSE Internet requires a Network Interface Card (NIC) installed in a PC/Mac or router – no modem is required. A Category 5 or 6 network cable, which will be provided, is connected directly into your computer or router which connects you to the Internet.
Yes.
To connect to the Internet wirelessly you can use a WiFi router which is plugged into the FUSE Internet connection.
Yes, as long as FUSE has reached your new neighborhood with the fibre cable installation.
You will get the most accurate results when you are connected to the internet via a direct cable from your computer to your cable modem.
Connections which rely on wireless signal strength may have varying results that do not represent the full potential of your service.
Make sure you are connected to the internet directly via your cable modem
Make sure you are not downloading or uploading anything
Close any other programs that are using the internet
Turn off any other computers, tablets, gaming consoles that share your home network
8 Kilobits (Kb) = 1 Kilobyte (KB)
8 Megabits (Mb) = 1 Megabyte (MB)
KB and MB are measurements of data file sizes and storage.
Kbps and Mbps are short for "Kilobits per second" and "Megabits per second" and are measurements of data transfer rates (also known as connection speed).
To estimate how long it takes to download a large file based upon your connection speed, you can use the following mathematical equation: (Convert file size to Mb) / connection speed (in Mbps) = # of seconds to complete download. For example, if your connection speed is 16 Mbps, then you could theoretically download a 2 MB file in approximately one second. (2 MB x 8 Mb) / 16 Mbps = 1 second
There are many variables that could impact your speed when connected to the internet through a wireless network. For example, microwaves, static electricity, fluorescent lights, windows, wall type and thickness, distance, band and signal settings, multiple devices on the same channel, and several other factors can impact the speeds you receive when wirelessly connected to the internet. These WiFi variables can add substantial delay which may result in speed degradation. A wired connection eliminates many of the potential variables of a wireless network, resulting in improved performance.
Yes, for optimal performance, place the wireless gateway or router in:
A central location where client devices will most likely be used
An elevated location, such as a higher shelf, where laptops have a line of sight view
A vertical position
Areas to avoid include:
An area away from other interference sources (such as microwaves, high powered appliances, 2.4 GHz cordless phones or other wireless devices close to other Wireless Access Points)
Avoid installation in basements and next to other Wireless Routers (e.g. XH Router)
An area away from metal objects and surfaces
Against a wall, tucked away in a corner on the floor or behind furniture
Near windows
Close to halogen or florescent lighting
The internet does not operate in direct paths. To reach a Speed Test server, your traffic may not be routed in a direct line to the server's geographical location. This increased distance may result in increased latency which may impact your test results.
Obtain the best test results by trying several different servers.
Yes. With Logic, you’ll enjoy an always-on, always-secure connection that never ties up your phone line.
Logic lets you connect at broadband speeds of up to 1.5Mbps. That’s up to 25 times faster than typical dial-up! Check out our speed demo to see how Logic compares to other Internet services.

Your Logic connection is very secure. That’s because Logic’s wireless technology uses OFDM transmission protocol, featuring a design standard that includes secure wireless data transmission. Wi-Fi operates on unlicensed 2.4GHz frequencies, making it vulnerable to scanning and packet interception. WestTel operates at licensed 2.5GHz frequencies. Licensed frequencies and OFDM make for a very secure connection.
Yes as long as a RJ-45 Ethernet port is available the EasyConnect modem will work.
Your service should be “plug and play” but users migrating from dial up services may need to change their Internet Explorer settings.
To do this you will need to go to the Tools Menu in your Internet Explorer browser, and select Internet options before selecting the general tab. In this tab, the connections settings should be set to “Never Dial a connection” or you may be prompted for your dialup settings.
Some customers do experience some interference when using their wireless router. Since Wi-Fi operates in an unlicensed spectrum, it is sharing space with numerous other technologies developed to use this spectrum. In order for your Wi-Fi router to effectively communicate, it must distinguish data signals from other background noise, which can come from microwaves, cordless phones, Bluetooth devices, etc, and potentially even the EasyConnect modem. To reduce interference, simply provide some distance separation between the modem and the router; a couple of feet apart should be adequate. We also suggest using a 5.8 GHz cordless phone to avoid the additional interference that 2.4 GHz phones contribute. As a last resort, you may consider lowering the channel your wireless router is operating in through its configuration.

Every computer that communicates over the Internet is assigned an IP address that uniquely identifies the device and distinguishes it from other computers on the Internet.
A static IP address is a number that’s assigned to a computer by an Internet service provider to be its permanent address on the Internet. Dynamic IP addressing, or DHCP, provides a different IP address each time you connect to the Internet. Dynamic addresses are kept in a pool and are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.
To add a static IP address contact a Customer Care Representative by sending an online support request or calling 745 5555.
